The inability to have the economy of scale enjoyed by outsourcers, which often results in high costs for in house options. There is no way to combat this concern. The United States has a very high minimum wage compared to other countries. Many companies will much rather pay pennies to the people in these countries to make their garnments than a U.S employee.

A recent purchase that I made was at a store named Ruehl. Unconsciously knowing I did follow the purchase decision process. I first glanced at the the top, picked it up to examine the fabric, color and texture. Then I mentally figured out what I could wear it with that I already have. Tried on the top and made the purchase. It was quick and easy.

Having the convenience of shopping anywhere at anytime is why i choose to shop online. I do not buy clothing online for the sole purpose of not being able to try it on. However, i recently purchased a memory foam from overstock.com and some Havaianas sandals from Americansole.com. These purchases are everyday purchases that i know i can't go wrong with. In my eyes it's a a huge inconvenience to go through the hassle of returning on item online. Every now and then the retailer makes you pay for additional shipping and handling charges just to return the item. In the long run it can be more expensive to order online than it is to go to the mall.

If i was a business owner i would blog to market my business. It would keep my customers educated about the prices and why they're changing. For instance produce prices are on the rise due to the cold weather in California. If i blogged about this they would be more educated and know what to expect before they came to my store.

The most interesting topic for me to learn about in this class is the development of online shopping. According to the NRF online shopping was a huge success this holiday season. A special online shopping day was established called Cyber Monday; The biggest online shopping day of the year. Cyber Monday is much like Black Friday but geared towards the online world.

Online shopping seems to be the most applicable area of study to help me reach my goals. Everyone is turning to their computers and buying online.
